Lillian M. Argilagos
Lillian M. Argilagos has served in numerous capacities at Viamericas Corporation since its founding. As Corporate Counsel, she has provided legal counsel on a range of issues. Her responsibilities have included oversight of credit and collections, company disputes and litigation, contract negotiation and drafting, corporate governance matters, ethics and human resources. She has managed outside counsel and developed corporate policies and procedures. Prior to joining Viamericas, Ms. Argilagos worked for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Inter-American Dialogue, two Washington-based think tanks, as Executive Director of the Group of Fifty (G-50). She was responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives as well as for program administration and development. The G-50 is a non-profit initiative that promotes economic and social progress in the Western Hemisphere. It is composed of a select group of chief executives from some of the most important private sector companies in the Americas.
Prior to joining CEIP and IAD, Ms. Argilagos cofounded International Business Information Services, which provided consulting and research services for firms pursuing trade and investment opportunities worldwide. Ms. Argilagos began her career as a commercial litigator at Valdes-Fauli, Cobb, Petrey & Bischoff, in Miami, Florida where she specialized in international and domestic banking law, real estate and commercial transactions. Ms. Argilagos received her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctorate at Boston College. She is Cuban American, speaks fluent Spanish and some French.
